My name is Adam Emelio. I am a San Francisco–based woodworker specializing in architectural millwork, custom furniture, Japanese tooling and traditional joinery. I began working with my hands in high school through technical theater, where I developed a foundation in carpentry, welding, stage lighting, and sound.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, I began building custom homes in my hometown of Sacramento. In 2021, I moved to the Bay Area and began working as a carpenter within San Francisco’s restaurant community, where I developed a particular interest in the relationship between craftsman communities, design, and public spaces.
I am currently the shop foreman at Cookline Construction in San Francisco, where I oversee the company’s millwork program, while also operating my own woodworking business.
